COBCOE, the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe, has awarded Today Translations with one of its two new “Make Europe Work!®” business awards. The award for “Breakthrough Trade” went to Today Translations for their success in helping British businesses to overcome language barriers and boost trade; their introduction of new secure services to protect language supply chains from fraud and cyber-crime; and their own stellar increase in sales within the EU market.
Jurga Zilinskiene, who received the award said, “Speaking in the customer’s language is the secret formula to trade that many overlook and I am so thrilled that the work we do to help so many companies to trade and excel, whatever the language, has been showcased in this way! Our export growth and focus on ISO:27001 security standards proves that Great Britain is great for languages and that’s great for business!”
Simon Dransfield, Jaguar Land Rover General Manager of Fleet & Business Europe said, “We are extremely proud to have sponsored the spectacular gala evening celebrating innovation, design, sales performance and entrepreneurial success” commented “These principles are core to our growth, which has now created the UK’s largest automotive manufacturing business, employing over 30,000 people across the UK and Europe.’
John Harvey CBE, Chairman of The Keswick Enterprises Group, sponsor of the new awards, said, “As a UK business with a substantial logistics presence in Romania, Poland and, more recently, Hungary, we are very glad to support the COBCOE awards in raising British interest in these markets.”
The business awards programme is a new initiative championed by COBCOE to recognise British European businesses that demonstrate strategic European trade development achievement that is shown to “Make Europe Work!®”. COBCOE through its European chamber network engaged with its members to identify and shortlist entrants from a diverse range of industries and markets. The winners were announced and awards presented at COBCOE’s Annual Gala Dinner, where Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE DL spoke about the need to help entrepreneurs expand their businesses in Europe. The event was held on the 11th May 2015 at the historic Chartered Accountants’ Hall in the City of London.
The objective of COBCOE’s “Make Europe Work!®” awards is to showcase and highlight entrepreneurial drive and ambition to break through, grow and develop business with the UK’s largest global trading block. COBCOE represents 42 British bilateral chambers of commerce across Europe whose combined membership comprises around 8,000 businesses.
